July 18, 2009 04:09 AM
The USTA Eastern Section is teaming up with Nassau County and the US Professional Tennis Association to bring free tennis instruction to eight Nassau County Parks. This effort is offered in conjunction with Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi's Healthy Nassau initiative.

Last year's QuickStart Tennis day had over 15 professionals, 20 volunteers and camp counselors teach tennis to over 800 children from summer camps held at the parks.

This year the tennis day is scheduled for Eisenhower, Cantiaque, Centennial, Cow Meadow, Wantagh, Christopher Morley, No. Woodmere  Parks and new this year Nickerson Park. On July 22, (with a rain date of July 24) The instruction starts at 10:30am and goes until at least 1pm.

Everyone is welcome.
