Commack Girls Play for Pink

November 15, 2018 11:58 AM

The annual Commack High School Varsity Girls "Tennis with the Teachers Play for P.I.N.K Tournament" took place on November 8th at the school. Seventeen Varsity student athletes paired up with the teachers of their choice to battle it out on the courts and raise money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Say Coach Jackie Clark: "Not only was there great competition but true spirit and camaraderie on and off of the courts. The student athletes love the opportunity to get their favorite teachers out on the courts and our teachers also have a blast. There is always excitement, enthusiasm and a little trash talking leading up to this event and this year was no different. The father/daughter team of Paul (Physical Education teacher) and Valerie Slackman won the championship this year edging out Emily Tannenbaum and School Counselor Aly Catinella. After a fantastic season for the Varsity Girls Tennis Team, this was a wonderful way to end the season with a giant exclamation point and for a really important cause."
