February 28, 2017 10:23 AM

Max and Austin Egna are identical twins who have been playing singles and doubles together since they were nine years old. They are currently seniors at Paul D. Schreiber High School in Port Washington, where they also play on the Varsity tennis team. They have a special bond that transfers onto the court, and they will be fulfilling their lifelong dream to play as a doubles team at Union College in the Fall of 2017.

The Egna boys have been on their school's varsity tennis team since 9th grade and have received awards including the Coach’s Award, MVP Award, USTA Eastern Sportsmanship Award and Scholar Athlete Award. They finished with an undefeated season in 2016 playing first doubles for Schreiber and were "All County" in Doubles that year.

Max and Austin train six days a week both privately and in an intense group with former Florida All-American Jordie Dolberg. They train at Sportime Roslyn. Max is currently ranked 38 in New York State and 112 in the Mid Atlantic and Austin is 47 in New York State and 131 in the Mid Atlantic.

Despite a demanding training schedule and traveling to countless USTA tournaments, Max and Austin have maintained 4.0 GPAs in school and  have been on the Honor Roll and Principal’s Honor Roll almost every quarter.
