PISE Grants Now Available

The new application for the USTA's 2015 Participation Growth & Start Up/Expansion (PISE) grant is now available.

PISE grants help advance the mission of the USTA Eastern Section "to promote and develop the growth of tennis" by investing funds in organizations, programs, providers, facilities or venues that can deliver significant growth in tennis participation.

Grant applications must demonstrate how grant funds will contribute toward increased participation in existing programs, assist in the start-up of new programs or increase an organization’s capacity to deliver such programs and/or increase tennis participation in general. All applications must include a viable plan for long-term financial sustainability.

Over the last few years these grants have given providers in the Section several hundred thousand dollars.

The maximum individual grant is $10,000 and priority consideration will be given to applications in the following order:
1. Programs, projects and/or organizations that increase in-school or after-school participation among youth. USTA Eastern’s primary goal is to ensure tennis is available in all schools in the Section. Applicants able to help achieve this goal will be given priority consideration.
2. Programs, projects and/or organizations that increase general youth participation.
3. Organizational capacity building designed to lead to increased participation, such as web or on-line registration development, staff development, or infrastructure enhancement.
4. Programs, projects and/or organizations that increase overall tennis participation among Hispanic populations.
