USTA Eastern Launches Listen and Learn Tour on Long Island

The leaders of the USTA Eastern Section will be traveling to tennis facilities across the section to hear what’s on the minds of local tennis providers, local players and volunteers, in the section’s 2011 Listen and Learn Tour.

The tour, led by Jeff Williams, president of the section’s Board of Directors, and D.A. Abrams, the section’s Executive Director, is being organized by the regional presidents and staff in each of USTA Eastern’s six regions. The goal is to hear directly from those who play, teach or run programs on the local level and learn what USTA Eastern can do to help them grow the sport.

“Every community faces its own set of challenges,” Williams said. “We want to listen and learn directly from everyone at these meetings about the specific problems they face, and what they think could help solve them.”

The Long Island Region Listen and Learn Tour will take place on Monday, July 11th at 7:00 PM at Carlyle on the Green, Bethpage State Park, 99 Quaker Meeting House Road, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
